An international judicial forum, March 19-20, 2015
The III International judicial forum was held in the Supreme Court of Ukraine on March 19-20, 2015. The topic of this year's event is "Judicial Reform in Ukraine: European vector" is organized by newspaper "Legal Practice", the Supreme Court of Ukraine, EU Project "Support to Reform Justice in Ukraine" Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University.
Mr Sergii Koziakov, Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine participated in this event and reported on the activities of the Commission in the new environment, before the amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine.
Mr Oleksii Filatov, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, Coordinator of the Council told about how judicial professionals of the Council see reform strategy for the judiciary. In his view, address the most difficult issues of the judicial system requires amending the Constitution of Ukraine.
Also, the forum was attended by international experts - experts on the implementation of European standards in the judicial system of Finland, Lithuania, Poland and other countries, members of the working group on the draft Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, members of the judiciary (judges of courts of different instances and jurisdictions, members of the Judicial Council of Ukraine, the leadership of the National School of Judges of Ukraine), People’s Deputies, partners of leading law firms, representatives of the public prosecution service and scientists.
