Meeting of the Chairman with the Director of the International Programs Division of the Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs Canada, 15 October, 2015
Mr Sergii Koziakov, Commission Chairman met with Mr Oleh Shakov, Director of the International Programs Division of the Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs Canada. Mr Andrii Vasylenko, Member of the Commission Qualification Chamber, Mrs Polina Kazakevych, Head of International Cooperation Department of the Commission Secretariat and Mrs Nataliia Horodetska, Senior Manager, International Programs Division of the Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs Canada also took part in the meeting.
Mr Koziakov informed his Canadian colleagues about the changes in Ukrainian legislation with respect to judicial system and the work of the Commission in part of organization and conduct of initial qualification assessment of judges. The Procedure and Methodology of Qualification Assessment of Judges and Regulation on Examination Procedure and Its Evaluation Methodology during the Qualification Assessment of Judge are currently on the stage of approval of the Council of Judges of Ukraine.
The Chairman of the Commission drew attention of Mr Shakov that according to the Law of Ukraine “On Judiciary and the Status of Judges” the Commission shall be a beneficiary of international technical aid, principal administrator of international aid received from foreign countries, banks and international financial organizations.
The two sides exchanged views on further areas of cooperation between the Commission and the Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs Canada.
