Mr Sergii Koziakov, Chairman of the Commission met with Mr Dean Spielmann, President of the European Court of Human Rights, 16 June, 2015
As a part of working visit to Strasbourg, Mr Sergii Koziakov, Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine met with Mr Dean Spielmann, President of the European Court of Human Rights on 16 June 2015.
During the meeting the Ukrainian delegation informed the senior executives of the ECHR about the reform of the judicial system in Ukraine. In particular, they discussed the work of the Constitutional Commission on drafting amendments to the Constitution in judiciary section.
Mr Shpielmann expressed his concern about the non-execution of domestic judicial decisions in Ukraine. Instead the ECHR President welcomed the reforming process of Ukrainian judicial system conducted in accordance with the recommendations of the Council of Europe and the ECHR judgment in case "Volkov v. Ukraine."
