At OSCE Annual Meeting Mr. Sergii Koziakov spoke about the success of the judicial reform in Ukraine
Mr. Sergii Koziakov, Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine as a member of Ukrainian delegation took part in the Human Dimension Implementation Meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) which took place in Warsaw on September 10-21, 2018.
Mr. Sergii Koziakov, representative of the delegation from Ukraine was given the right to speak first among 80 speakers – official representatives of the OSCE Member States and numerous representatives of the public sector.
Mr. Sergii Koziakov delivered a speech at the fourth working session “The rule of law: the right to a fair trial, the independence of the judiciary and democratic law-making”.
“The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine is actually completing a large-scale qualification evaluation procedure of all judges in the country. Furthermore, we announced a second competition to the Supreme Court as well as competitions to newly established the High Court on Intellectual Property and the High Anti-Corruption Court. It is in the forming of the latter that we will be assisted by international experts with an impeccable reputation. I emphasize that all these processes are carried out simultaneously by the Commission. I am convinced that such number of judicial procedures has not been conducted in any country,” said Mr. Sergii Koziakov.
Delegations of 57 OSCE Member States, non-governmental organizations of these countries and representatives of civil society took part in the OSCE largest forum on human rights and fundamental freedoms, rule of law, democracy, tolerance, and non-discrimination.
