Chairman of the Commission met with Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine
31 May 2017, the Chairman of the Commission Mr. Sergii Koziakov met with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Dr. Ernst Reichel and the Head of Legal and Consular Department Mr. Jens Kraus-Massé.
The event was also attended by the members of the Commission Mr. Andrii Vasylenko and Mr. Andrii Kozlov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues concerning actual situation of judicial reform in Ukraine, steps, features and interim results of the contest to the Supreme Court.
The Chairman of the Commission said that at present the Chambers of the Commission completed interviewing process with all the candidates to the Supreme Court. Starting 6 June 2017 the Commission will begin its plenary meetings concerning those candidates, for whom the Commission announced the break due to an Opinion of the Public Integrity Council on unconformity to criteria of professional ethics and integrity.
Mr. Sergii Koziakov stressed that the high level of the public involvement, representatives of the Public Integrity Council, International organizations, Diplomatic Missions, Partners and Donors of the Commission have provided an unprecedented scale of transparency of the contest procedures, and expressed gratitude for the raised interest to the competition and monitoring at all its stages.
