Chairman of the Commission participated in the round table in Zaporizhia
On 9 February 2018, the Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine Mr. Sergii Koziakov took part in the working visit of the delegation of the State Judicial Management to Zaporizhia city.
The delegation also included the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Ms. Valentyna Danishevska, the Chairman of the High Council of Justice Mr. Igor Benedysiuk, the Chairman of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine Mr. Zenovii Kholodniuk.
During the visit Mr. Sergii Koziakov took part in the round table “Application of the new procedural legislation”, which took place in the Appellate Court of Zaporizhia Oblast. At the event with the participation of the Supreme Court judges, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine judges, lower courts’ judges and the Bar representatives, the queries of the simplified adversary proceedings, the dispute resolution with the participation of a judge and the transitional provisions of the procedural codes were discussed.
The press conference for the local mass media also took place, in which Mr. Sergii Koziakov informed about the plans of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine for 2018. In particular, the Commission’s Chairman told about the peculiarities of the qualification assessment of judges for their position compliance. He reminded that the Commission had already begun the selection of candidates for judicial positions, the competition to the High Court on Intellectual Property and also planned to conduct the competition to the Anti-Corruption Court and the next competition to the Supreme Court.
In the framework of the visit to Zaporizhia, the leaders of the highest judicial authorities of Ukraine took part in the opening ceremony of the new administrative building of the Ordzhonikidzevskii District Court of Zaporizhia city.
The meeting with the district, city management and the management of the region law enforcement agencies is also scheduled. The meeting with judges of the Appellate Court of Zaporizhia oblast, heads of local courts, judges of specialized local courts of Zaporizhia oblast will be held.
