Commission suspended 2 judges from the office

At the meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, held on 4 April 2016, upon request of the Prosecutor-General of Ukraine the Commission decided to suspend 2 judges from the office.

Thus, in connection with the criminal prosecution, the Commission suspended Mr. Serhii Vovk, judge of Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv city for 2 months.

The Commission also extended for 1 month the suspension period for Mr. Serhii Laziuk, judge of Dzerzhynskyi District Court of Kharkiv city.

The consideration of the request for suspension of Mr.Vladyslav Lysenko, judge of Kyievo-Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv region was deferred by the Commission.

Justice Serhii Vovk is accused in committing a crime, provided by paragraph 2 of the Article 375 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely adoption of knowingly unjust decisions.

Justice Vladyslav Lysenko is accused in committing a crime, provided by paragraph 2 of the Article 375 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely rendering a knowingly unjust ruling on bringing a person to administrative liability under Article 1222 of the Administrative Code of Ukraine.

Justice Serhii Laziuk is suspended till 3 April 2016 by the Commission Decision as of 11 March 2016.

Justice Serhii Laziuk is suspected in committing a crime under paragraph 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely in obtaining by the official, who is occupying responsible position, undue advantage for committing by such official in the benefit of those, who give undue advantage, of any action with using provided power, combined with extortion of undue advantage.
