Eight candidates stopped participating in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court and one – to the HACC Appeal Chamber

On January 23, 2019, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine held a special joint meeting with the Public Council of International Experts, where the question of whether the candidates for the positions of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court meet the criteria provided for in the Article 8, paragraph 4 of the Law of Ukraine “On the High Anti-Corruption Court” was considered.

Following the voting results the HQCJ and PCIE decided that eight candidates stopped participating in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court, namely:

  • Holovatyi Roman Yaroslavovych
  • Zanini Diana Volodymyrivna
  • Ivasyn Oleksandr Romanovych
  • Kytsiuk (Zhovnovatiuk) Viktoriia Serhiivna
  • Nadtochyieva Anna Petrivna
  • Synhaivskyi Oleksandr Pylypovych
  • Sicheslavskyi Ihor Anatoliiovych
  • Yurkevych Yurii Mykolaiovych

It was also decided that one candidate stopped participating in the competition to the Appeal Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court, namely:

  • Burbela Yurii Serhiiovych

The meeting took place within the framework of the qualification evaluation of candidates as a part of the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court conducted by the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine. The Public Council of International Experts assists the Commission in preparing decisions on the appointment of HACC judges.

International observers, in particular representatives of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Ukraine, Embassy of the United States of America in Ukraine and the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) attended the meeting.

It should be recalled that in general the question of whether 49 candidates meet the criteria for the position of the HACC judge should be considered at the special joint meetings. The next special joint meeting of the HQCJ and the PCIE will be held on January 24, 2019.
