Eight candidates stopped participating in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court and two – to the HACC Appeal Chamber
On January 21, 2019, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine held a special joint meeting with the Public Council of International Experts, where the question of whether the candidates for the positions of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court meet the criteria provided for by the Article 8, paragraph 4 of the Law of Ukraine “On the High Anti-Corruption Court” was considered.
Following the voting results the HQCJ and PCIE decided that seven candidates stopped participating in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court, namely:
- Burda Petro Oleksiyovych
- Dmietriev Viacheslav Stanislavovych
- Kimstachov Oleh Serhiiovych
- Onufriiev Victor Mykolayovych
- Soloviov Ivan Mykolaiovych
- Khytryk Ruslan Ivanovych
- Chernysh Tetiana Oleksandrivna
Instead, it was decided that two candidates were admitted to the qualification evaluation stage “Dossier examining and interviewing”. The following candidates will continue to participate in the competition:
- Bilous Inna Oleksandrivna
- Feskov Petro Vasylovych
It was also decided that two candidates stopped participating in the competition to the Appeal Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court, namely:
- Didyk Mykola Volodymyrovych
- Yahunov Dmytro Victorovych
The meeting took place within the framework of the qualification evaluation of candidates as a part of the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court conducted by the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine. The Public Council of International Experts assists the Commission in preparing decisions on the appointment of HACC judges.
As international observers representatives of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in Ukraine, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine and the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) attended the meeting.
It should be recalled that in general the question of whether 49 candidates meet the criteria for the position of the HACC judge should be considered at the special joint meetings. The next special joint meeting of the HQCJ and the PCIE will be held on January 22, 2019.
In addition, today at its meeting the HQCJ considered the issue of the termination of participation in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court of candidate Omelian Oleksii Serhiiovych. Following the results of the consideration of the application, the candidate stopped participating in the competition.
