Five candidates stopped participating in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court and three – to the HACC Appeal Chamber

On January 24, 2019, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine held a special joint meeting with the Public Council of International Experts, where the question of whether the candidates for the positions of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court meet the criteria provided for in the Article 8, paragraph 4 of the Law of Ukraine “On the High Anti-Corruption Court” was considered.

Following the voting results the HQCJ and PCIE decided that three candidates stopped participating in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court, namely:

  • Krutii Yurii Petrovych
  • Salo Andrii Bohdanovych
  • Yakovenko Andrii Oleksandrovych

Instead, it was decided that one candidate was admitted to the qualification evaluation stage “Dossier examining and interviewing”. The following candidate will continue participation in the competition:

  • Voronko Volodymyr Dmytrovych

It was also decided that three candidates stopped participating in the competition to the Appeal Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court, namely:

  • Kovtunenko Olesia Volodymyrivna
  • Krutsenko Tetiana Vitaliivna
  • Fediaiev Serhii Volodymyrovych

The meeting took place within the framework of the qualification evaluation of candidates as a part of the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court conducted by the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine. The Public Council of International Experts assists the Commission in preparing decisions on the appointment of HACC judges.

Representatives of the World Bank, IMF Resident Representative Office in Ukraine, the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) and the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine also attended the meeting.

The next special joint meeting of the HQCJ and the PCIE will be held on January 28, 2019.

In addition, today at its meeting the HQCJ considered the issue of the termination of participation in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court of candidates Bondarchuk Ruslan Anatoliiovych and Holovchak Marian Mykhailovych. Following a result of the consideration of the application, the candidates stopped participating in the competition.
