HQCJU Chairman Sergii Koziakov had working visit to Kherson
On June 25, 2019, in Kherson, the Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine Sergii Koziakov took part in a meeting with the chairmen of the local and district courts of appeals of the Southern Circuit on the urgent issues of the implementation of the current stage of judicial reform.
Chairmen of the High Council of Justice Volodymyr Hovorukha, Supreme Court Valentina Danishevska, Council of Judges of Ukraine Oleh Tkachuk, State Judicial Administration of Ukraine Zenovii Kholodniuk joined the discussion with local judges regarding problems existing in the Southern Circuit Courts.
Sergii Koziakov told the audience about the peculiarities of judges' qualification evaluation for the correspondence with the position held. He noted that the Commission is doing every effort not to delay with this procedure, and interviews with judges within the framework of the qualification evaluation took place every day.
However, the participants were interested in the issue of solving personnel problems in the justice system. The Chairman of the Commission informed that in order to make immediate progress in this direction and comply with the recommendations of the Communication Committee of the Justice System, the HCQJU will announce a competition for vacant positions of judges in local courts in the coming days.
Sergii Koziakov also noted that on June 24, 2019, the Commission appointed a qualification exam within the procedure for selecting candidates for a position of a local court judge. This complex of measures will allow filling vacancies in the courts of Ukraine and will facilitate resolving the issue of court cases consideration.
