INFORMATION on status of consideration by the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine issues on recommending of judges of local administrative courts for election to lifetime judicial position
For 10 months of work of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, formed on 9 December, 2014 in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Restoring Confidence in the Judiciary of Ukraine,” it examined 109 applications of judges of county administrative courts for participation in selection to judicial position for lifetime term.
Upon considering the issues of recommending candidates for election to a lifetime judicial position, the Commission decided to provide recommendations to 96 judges of county administrative courts for election to judicial position to the appropriate local court in connection with the end of the five-year term of their office. The Commission deferred the consideration of recommending 13 judges of local administrative courts.
Moreover, the Commission filed to the Parliament of Ukraine the submission on election of judges of county administrative courts to lifetime judicial positions in full accordance with the procedure prescribed by the Law of Ukraine “On Judiciary and the Status of Judges.”
According to the Commission information, as of 9 October, 2015, before the Parliament of Ukraine there are submissions on election of 137 judges to the lifetime judicial positions, regulations in respect of which have not been adopted yet.
