International donors appreciated the examination to the Supreme Court
On 17 March 2017, a regular coordination meeting of donors on the competition issues for vacant positions of judges to the Supreme Court took place at the office of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of the European Union Project “Support for Justice reforms in Ukraine”, The USAID New Justice Program, the Council of Europe Project “Support to the implementation of the judicial reform in Ukraine”, the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) to Ukraine, the Ukrainian-Canadian Project “Support to Judicial Reform”, The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine etc.
The Chairman of the Commission Mr. Sergii Koziakov thanked the representatives of international organizations for the support of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine in conducting the competition. He also informed the audience about the results of anonymous written testing of candidates and reminded that the checking of the practical work is almost done.
Mr. John Cubbon, EUAM Senior Adviser on Judiciary, appreciated the work of the Commission during the first stage of qualification assessment of candidates to the Supreme Court. He mentioned that everything was extremely transparent and at a high level.
Participants exchanged views on the next stages of the competition, namely on the psychological tests and interviews based on the analysis of candidates' dossier, and discuss the training for future judges of the Supreme Court.
Mr. Mykola Onishchuk, Rector of the National School of Judges of Ukraine, presented the concept of a comprehensive training program for the newly appointed Supreme Court judges. It is planned that such training will begin in June this year.
