Not only journalists but also the representatives of public organizations, international projects, and embassies of different countries observe the broadcastings in a specially equipped room in the Commission office.

In particular, during the recent days EUAM Senior Adviser on the Judiciary Mr. John Cubbon, Specialist of the Policy Division of the Embassy of Germany in Ukraine Mr. Oleksandr Kovalchuk, Representative of the Policy Division of the Embassy of Great Britain in Ukraine Ms. Olena Korostyshevska visited the Commission.

According to Mr. John Cubbon, the formation of the new composition of the Supreme Court is a crucial component of the judicial reform in Ukraine.

“The ongoing interviews will enable to make profiles of candidates to the Supreme Court, and this knowledge is necessary to understand the process. I attended the interviews to have a first-hand experience of how they are held. I have read and heard a lot about them, but it is much better to have a look at this process on my own. Obviously, this is the first time in Ukraine when the open and transparent competition for the positions of judges to the Supreme Court is announced. All the candidates undergo a thorough scrutiny”, Mr. John Cubbon emphasized.

We would like to remind that 382 candidates were admitted to the interview stage. As of May 16, 2017, 240 persons have already completed their interviews.
