Judicial reform and peculiarities of commercial justice were addressed in Chernihiv

On 08 and 09 June 2018, the conference “Commercial Jurisdiction. Today’s Challenges” took place in the city of Chernihiv, where the Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine Mr. Sergii Koziakov was one of the speakers.

The key topic of the event was to discuss the stages of the judicial reform and the current state of the commercial justice.

The Chairman of the HQCJ noted that at the moment within the framework of the reform the very resolute and accurate steps, which had a positive assessment of the Council of Europe and other international organizations, had already been taken.

Mr. Sergii Koziakov informed that the autumn would be intense for the Commission being conducting its procedures. In particular, the second competition to the Supreme Court may be announced in September; almost simultaneously examinations for candidates for the positions of IP court judges will be launched; preparations for the competition to the High Anticorruption Court are ongoing.

Ms. Valentyna Danishevska, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court; Mr. Igor Benedysiuk, Chairman of the High Council of Justice; Mr. Oleg Tkachuk, Chairman of the Council of Judges of Ukraine; Mr. Zenovii Kholodniuk, Head of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine; Supreme Court Justices, Presidents of local and appellate commercial courts of Ukraine and representatives of local governmental bodies also attended the conference.
