Mr. Sergii Koziakov took part in the e-Justice conference

On December 5-6, 2018, in Vienna, Austria, within the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership Initiative, the e-Justice conference was held to address current IT solutions with regards to the electronic files in the European Union. About 200 representatives of EU Member States, EU institutions and the Eastern Partnership countries met to exchange expert opinions. Mr. Sergii Koziakov, Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine took part in the event.

Ukrainian delegation also included Mr. Vadym Belianevych, Deputy Chairman of the High Council of Justice; Ms. Tetiana Malashenkova, Mr. Anatolii Miroshnychenko, Members of the High Council of Justice; Mr. Zenovii Kholodniuk, Chairman of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine; Mr. Mykola Onishchuk, Rector of the National School of Judges of Ukraine.

The speakers at the conference were Mr. Michael Schvanda, Mr. Thomas Gottwald, Mr. Martin Schneider, Mr. Joseph Moser, Mr. Martin Hackl and Mr. Christian Hesek, representatives of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Justice; Ms. Alexandra Jour-Schroeder, representative of the European Commission; Mr. Alain Pilette, Deputy Director of Directorate-General, Justice and Home Affairs of the Council of the EU; Mr. Georg Stava, representative of the Council of Europe; Ms. Sabine Matejka, representative of the Association of Austrian Judges; Mr. Martin Wolf, representative of Austrian postal service; Mr. Matthias Purkart, representative of the Austrian Central Public Prosecutor's Office for White-Collar Crime and Corruption; Mr. Robert Behr and Mr. Johann Kikindzher, representatives of Austrian Federal Computing Centre and experts of Member States of the European Union, Estonia, Slovakia, Romania, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, Croatia and others.

Participants of the event discussed the “digital” strategy and Justice 3.0 initiatives in Austria, e-CODEX, innovations promoting European e-justice, digital systems for exchanging electronic evidence, information technologies in law and artificial intelligence, the use of electronic evidence and forensic expertise in the field of information technologies as well as other issues related to e-justice.

The event was organized by the Federal Ministry of Constitutional Affairs, Reforms, Deregulation and Justice of Austria within the framework of Austrian Presidency of the Council of the Europan Union in 2018.
