Mr. Taras Lukash, Member of the Commission, participated in the meeting of the judiciary and justice sector representatives with developers of innovative projects in the field of justice

On November 19, 2018, a working meeting between representatives of the judiciary and the justice sector with developers of innovative projects in the field of justice was held with the support of the USAID New Justice Program and the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL). Mr. Taras Lukash, member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, participated in the meeting.

Representatives of the judiciary and the justice sector were briefed on innovative justice projects in Ukraine. They discussed current innovation practices and exchanged ideas on improving functioning of the courts and the judiciary through innovative solutions.

Developers of innovative projects, namely “Opendatabot”, “Court on the Palm”, “TOEcourt”, “Vkursi”, “AxDraft”, “Pinky”, “Lawyer’s House”, “PatentBot” presented innovative projects established to improve the functioning of the judiciary and the justice sector to the participants of the event.

Also, the achievements of the USAID New Justice Program in the area of ​​improvement the administration of judiciary bodies functioning, in particular, the analysis of business processes in the High Council of Justice were presented at the meeting.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Nove Pravosuddya Justice Sector Reform Program (New Justice Program) started implementation in Ukraine in October 2016.

The purpose of the program is to provide support to the judiciary, the Government, the Parliament, civil society and people of Ukraine in implementing judicial reform, taking into account the constitutional changes of 2016 and the Strategy for Reforming the judiciary, justice and related legal institutes for years 2015-2020.

New Justice Program builds its functioning on the achievements of previous USAID Projects, “Ukraine: Rule of Law” and “Fair Justice” and uses their achievements to coordinate close cooperation with Ukrainian partners, USAID projects, the US Government and other projects of international donor organizations in Ukraine.
