Regional Judicial Forum in Kharkiv
The Association for the Development of Judicial Self-governance of Ukraine together with the Ukrainian Bar Association and the support of international aid projects, and the promotion of the Council of Judges of Ukraine held the Regional Judicial Forum in Kharkiv on 18 April 2016.
Among the event participants there was Mr. Stanislav Shchotka, Secretary of Qualification Chamber of the Commission, who spoke on topical issues in the work of the HQCJU. During his speech and in answer to questions of the forum participants Mr. Shchotka emphasized the main points on which the Commission draws attention in the initial qualification assessment of judges.
The aim of the forum is the strengthen the self-governance and internal interaction between the judges, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the High Council of Justice, lawyers and employees of the judiciary, increasing the publicness of the judicial authorities, authority of judges and leadership trait development.
The Forum was also attended by Mrs. Valentyna Simonenko, Chairman of the Council of Judges of Ukraine, Mr. Volodymyr Kravchuk, President of the Association for the Development of Judicial Self-governance of Ukraine, Mrs. Alla Oliinyk, Member of the High Council of Justice, Mr. Denys Buhai, President of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Ukrainian Bar Association,” judges, lawyers, and human rights activists.
It is planned that on 16 May and 27 June 2016 the Ternopil and Odesa Regional Judicial Forums respectively will be held.
