Regular meeting of Commission’s Chairman with representatives of international organizations, diplomatic institutions and international technical assistance projects on the establishment of the High Anti-Corruption Court was held
The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine continues carrying out consultations with donors on the establishment of the Public Council of International Experts (PCIE) and holding the competition for the positions of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HAC) judges, which are being held by the Commission on a daily basis in the framework of the preparation for this competition. On August 06, 2018, a regular working meeting of the Chairman of the Commission Mr. Sergii Koziakov, the Deputy Head of the Commission’s Secretariat Mr. Oleksandr Bystrushkin and the acting Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Commission’s Secretariat Ms. Yuliia Tkachenko with representatives of international organizations, diplomatic institutions and international technical assistance projects on the establishment of the HAC was held.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Embassies of Denmark and the USA, the EU Delegation to Ukraine, the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the EU Project “PRAVO-Justice” and the International Development Law Organization (IDLO).
The parties continued discussing practical aspects of the PCIE functioning, the organizational structure of its secretariat, the peculiarities of interaction between the Council and the Commission, and also agreed on the next steps and the amount of international assistance required for the creation and the immediate commencement of the PCIE work.
Also, the Chairman of the HQCJ recalled that the Commission had sent letters to the relevant international organizations asking them to submit their proposals regarding the nominees to the PCIE and was currently waiting for their answers.
Mr. Sergii Koziakov stressed that the Commission hoped that international organizations would offer the most competent and the most experienced professionals to the PCIE, and called on the international organizations to submit their candidacies to the PCIE to ensure the widest possible representation in this Council. “We urge all interested parties to offer their candidates”, said the Chairman of the HQCJ.
We are recalling, that interested international organizations should submit to the Commission their proposals regarding the nominees to the PCIE until September 15, 2018.
