The announcement on the date and venue of the Congress of Judges of Ukraine and the beginning of accepting documents from candidates for the position of a member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine
The XV Congress of Judges of Ukraine, pending which the member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine will be elected, will be held on 5-6 March 2018 (with the reserve date on 7 March 2018)
According to Article 95 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and Status of Judges”, the secretariat of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine shall announce the beginning of accepting documents from candidates for the position of a member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine by the Congress of Judges of Ukraine.
According to the decision of the Council of Judges of Ukraine dated 7th December 2017 No. 71, which was received by the Commission on 9th January 2018, the XV Congress of Judges of Ukraine was scheduled on 5-6 March 2018 (with the reserve date on 7th March 2018). The agenda of the Congress includes the issue of the election of a member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
The venue of the Congress shall be the International Center of Culture and Arts of the Trade Union Federation of Ukraine (October Palace) at the following address: 1, Avenue of Heroes of Heaven, Kyiv, Ukraine.
The acceptance of documents from candidates shall be carried out by the secretariat of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine at the following address: 9, Mekhanizatoriv Str., Kyiv, Ukraine, from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 18:00, on Friday - from 9:00 to 16:45, on the last day – on 2th February 2018, from 9:00 to 24:00.
There is a box for accepting documents in the hall of the Commission building.
A complete list of requirements for candidates for the position of a member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, as well as restrictions on the Commission membership are determined by Articles 94 and 95 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and Status of Judges”. Examples of certain documents which are to be submitted to the secretariat of the Commission can be found on the official website of the Commission: http://www.vkksu.gov.ua/ in the section “Information for candidates to the HQCJ”. The list of candidates for the position of a member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine and information about them will be published in the section “Candidates to the HQCJ”.
