The Commission’s recommendations on dismissal of judges from Autonomous Republic of Crimea have been supported by the HCJ section
At the meeting of the disciplinary section of the High Council of Justice, held on 9 February 2016, the recommendations of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine in respect of the 6 judges' dismissal from the Crimea were considered. The High Qualification Commission sees in the actions of judges the evidences of inconsistency requirements violation.
We are recalling that at the meeting of the Commission, held on 10 November 2015 the joint appeal of Mr. Anatolii Matios, Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Mr. Sergii Leshchenko, People’s Deputy of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Mr. Yaroslav Romaniuk, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Ukraine regarding disciplinary responsibility of judges at temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol city was duly considered.
In particular, having considered the Commission's materials, section has recommended to the HCJ issuing a ruling on the opening cases concerning legislation requirements inconsistency in respect of these judges.
