The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine appeals to the local courts on proper following the Law of Ukraine “On Judiciary and the Status of Judges” and timely response to requests of the Commission

In order to clarify the grounds for changes or reversal of decisions adopted by those judges who have filed at the time of entry into force of the Law of Ukraine “On ensuring the right to a fair trial” application for election to the lifetime judicial position and those who under the decision of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine as of  28 January 2016  No 7/zp-16 will pass interview within initial qualification assessment in February-March 2016, the Commission sent 87 requests to the local courts.

By 2 March 2016 the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine received responses regarding 84 judges.

The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine draws attention to the need of local courts to respect the Article 101 of the Law of Ukraine “On Judiciary and the Status of Judges” and timely response to ensure proper holding of the initial qualification assessment of judges.
