The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine repeats its appeal to the local courts on the proper following the Law of Ukraine “On Judiciary and the Status of Judges” and timely response to requests of the Commission

To take into account specialization in different categories of cases during the initial qualification assessment of those judges that at the time of entry into force of the Law of Ukraine “On ensuring the right to a fair trial” have filed application for lifetime judicial position, on 28 December 2015 the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine sent to local courts 68 requests for submission of information , if any, about specialization of each judge and duly certified copies of decisions at the meetings of judges that may confirm this information.

By 21 January 2016 the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine received information on the specialization of judges from 65 local courts.

The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine repeatedly draws attention to the need of local courts to respect the Article 101 of the Law of Ukraine “On Judiciary and the Status of Judges” and of timely response to ensure proper planning and organization of the initial qualification assessment of judges.
