The working meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian-Canadian Support to Judicial Reform Project was held

On September 09, 2020, the working meeting of representatives of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine’s Secretariat with the Director of the Ukrainian-Canadian Support to Judicial Reform Project Lubomyr Markevych and Judicial Reform Issues Expert, PhD of the Project Valeriia Kokhan took place within online mode.   

The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine’s Secretariat was represented at the event by Acting Head of the Commission’s Secretariat Oleksandr Bystrushkin and Acting Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Commission’s Secretariat Denys Kuznetsov.

The participants discussed current work of the Commission’s Secretariat during quarantine and plans for cooperation in the frameworks of the Ukrainian-Canadian Support to Judicial Reform Project continuation until the end of 2021.

Oleksandr Bystrushkin stressed that the Commission’s Secretariat is ready for cooperation with the Project, taking into account the requirements of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine regarding the adaptive quarantine.

At the same time, representatives of the Support to Judicial Reform Project pointed out that the Government of Canada had set certain restrictions on face-to-face meetings during quarantine and took into account the policies of partner countries in the fight against COVID-19. Due to the restrictions imposed in the country during the pandemic, there is a question of holding offline meetings with the partners as well as conducting training sessions for the staff of the Commission’s Secretariat keeping the distance and personal protective measures.
