The Chairman of the Commission will have a working visit to Strasbourg, 16-18 June, 2015
Mr Sergii Koziakov, Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine will have a working visit to Strasbourg in the period of 16-18 June 2015.
The visit will be organized in the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Support to reform the judicial responsibility in Ukraine”, aimed to discuss the process of the judicial reform implementation in Ukraine, including the reform of the judicial responsibility in context of the ECHR judgments in cases "Oleksandr Volkov v. Ukraine" and "Salov v. Ukraine."
During the visit there is going to be a working meeting of Mr Koziakov with Mr Dean Spielmann, President of the European Court of Human Rights, involving Mr Erik Fribergh, Registrar, Mr John Darcy, Adviser to the President, Mrs Hanna Yudkivska, judge from Ukraine in the ECHR.
Mr Koziakov will also discuss the issue of judicial reform in Ukraine with Mr Thomas Markert, Secretary of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, Mrs Hanne Juncker, Head of the Department of Justice and Legal Cooperation of the Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe and others.
During the visit to Strasbourg the Chairman of the Commission will take part in a roundtable on constitutional reform in Ukraine with the participation of the Council of Europe institutions responsible for cooperation with Ukraine, the Council of Europe projects on judicial reform in Ukraine and delegation under the frame of the OSCE Project on judicial reform.
