The visit of Ukrainian delegation to the Republic of Lithuania, 18-24 May, 2015
In framework of cooperation with the EU Project “Support to Justice Sector Reforms in Ukraine” Ukrainian delegation consisting of representatives of the High Council of Judges of Ukraine and the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine took part in a working visit to the Republic of Lithuania from the period of 18 to 24 May 2015.
The Higher Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine was represented by Mr Stanislav Shchotka, Secretary of the Commission.
The visit was aimed to get familiarized the Ukrainian delegation with the judicial system of the Republic of Lithuania, the peculiarities of autonomous judicial bodies, as well as the evaluation of professional practice for judges of the Republic of Lithuania and the experience of reforming the judiciary in accordance with European standards.
The Ukrainian delegation got acquainted with the work of judicial authorities in the Republic of Lithuania, in particular the Supreme Administrative Court, the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Court, the District Court of Trakai Region, the Regional Court, the National Courts Administration and the Training Center of the National Court Administration. They also met with representatives of the Committee on Legal Affairs of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and the Chairperson of the Legal Ethics and Discipline Commission.
