Training seminar for judges on “Pre-trial dispute settlement involving judge”, 20 October, 2015
The two-day training seminar for judges on “Pre-trial dispute settlement involving judge” began today in Dnipropetrovsk city.
The event was organized as part of component III “Pre-trial dispute settlement involving judge” of Ukrainian-Canadian Project “Judicial Education for Economic Growth”, which is implemented by the Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs Canada in cooperation with Project’s beneficiary the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
The seminar was aimed at training judges of general and administrative courts of Dnipropetrovska, Donetska, Zaporizhska, Kirovohradska, Poltavska, Kharkivska oblasts in procedure of pre-trial dispute settlement.
The abovementioned procedure has successfully been applying from May, 2012 in the framework of the Project implementation in four pilot courts of Ukraine: Ivano-Frankivskyi City Court, Ivano-Frankivskyi County Administrative Court, Malynivskyi District Court of Odesa city, Odesa District Administrative Court.
Mr Oleg Shakov, Director of the International Programs Division of the Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs Canada made introducing speech and told participants about the benefits of pre-trial dispute settlement procedure involving judges in Canada and thanked the HQCJU for its support of the Project.
The participants were also welcomed by Mrs Valentyna Simonenko, Chairman of the Council of Judges of Ukraine, Mrs Nataliia Derkach, Chairman of the Appeal Court of Dnipropetrovska oblast and Mrs Polina Kazakevych, Head of the International Cooperation Division who told in detail about cooperation between the Commission and the Project.
The event was also attended by Mr Oleksandr Ahieiev, Chairman of the Appeal Court of Donetska oblast and Mr Viktor Horodovenko, Chairman of the Appeal Court of Zaporizhska oblast.
