Within the cooperation between the Commission and the USAID FAIR Justice Project the issue on implementation of joint actions was discussed, 27 May, 2015
At the working meeting, which took place on 27 May 2015, the implementation of the action plan in framework of cooperation between the Commission and the USAID FAIR Justice Project was discussed.
The event was attended by Mr David Vaughn, the USAID Fair Justice Chief of Party, Mrs Olena Ponomarenko, Head of the Secretariat of the Commission, Legal Advisors of the Project and Heads of departments of the Commission.
As was noted during the meeting by Mrs Ponomarenko, the Project’s support of the Commission in terms of technical support and automation of working processes, as well as providing its expert assistance, has high importance. In the light of the amendments to the legislation the experts also gave useful comments on the development of the new Regulations of the HQCJU
The cooperation between the parties also included the issue of disciplinary practices. The manual for inspectors of the Commission is preparing with the support of the Project. There are also two programs for improving skills and training of inspectors which are developing in the framework of this cooperation.
Mr Vaughn informed that the Project is ready for further cooperation with the Commission in development of a manual on evaluation of judges and the test questions related to ethical aspects, as well as psychological situations which judges can face with. As noted, the Commission is interested in cooperation with the Project’s expert in preparation of psychological tests for candidates for a post of judge.
