Working meeting of representatives of the Commission and the EU Project “Pravo-Justice” was held
On July 20, 2018, at High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine Mr. Oleksandr Bystrushkin, Deputy Head of the Commission Secretariat, Ms. Yuliia Tkachenko, Acting Head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Commission Secretariat met with Mr. Eric Swanidze, Ms. Veronica Vition, Mr. Denys Pashchenko, representatives and experts of the EU Project “Pravo-Justice” (hereinafter – the Project), and Mr. Mykhailo Kiktenko, Governmental Expert on Donor Coordination and International Cooperation of the Directorate of Strategic Planning and European Integration of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
The topic discussed was setting up a website that will become a platform for donor coordination within the framework of implementing
the Action Plan for Strategy of reforming judiciary and related legal institutions for the years 2015-2020.
Project representatives presented a test version of the site, briefing on its structure, functional capacities as well as on its advantages over other means of communication with projects of international technical assistance.
Mr. Oleksandr Bystrushkin, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Commission, said that the idea of setting up an electronic platform for coordinating donor assistance for judicial bodies seems to be particularly relevant now in the process of implementing judicial reform. He also added that the platform will facilitate this process, make it more organized and transparent and will enable providing donor assistance for the urgent needs of these bodies.
The Commission representatives thanked the Project for the innovative approach in donor assistance coordination and said they intended to continue cooperating with the Project to complete the work on the website.
