27 out of 30 Kyiv Circuit Administrative Court judges did not appear for qualification evaluation exam for the 2nd time
On May 21, 2019, an examination within the qualification evaluation of judges of local and appellate courts for their compliance with the position held took place in the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
However, 27 judges of the Kyiv Circuit Administrative Court did not appear for evaluation. Thus, on May 21, 2019 at the Commission’s premises only 3 judges of the KCAC were passing the examination.
Earlier, on April 17, 2019, 30 judges of the Kyiv Circuit Administrative Court did not appear for evaluation, indicating the reason of temporary disability. By the decision of the Commission on May 8, 2019, the reasons for non-attendance of the examination for the indicated 30 judges were considered as valid and the passing of the examination was postponed to May 21, 2019. The Commission is currently awaiting official documents on the reasons for the repeated absence of KCAC judges at the qualification evaluation.
Let us also remind that in the morning on May 20 and 21, 2019, the so-called activists blocked the building and restricted the access of some members of the Commission to the premises, which led to the disruption of the HQCJU plenary meeting concerning the qualification evaluation of judges.
The Chairman of the HQCJU, Mr. Sergii Koziakov was talking with activists for several hours. However, on May 21, the so-called activists, brought twice as many people, mainly by attracting elderly people from different districts of Kyiv and Kyiv region, continued to block the building of the HQCJU. Most young people and pensioners were interested in reasons of the qualification evaluation of judges of the Kyiv Circuit Administrative Court.
