6 of 10 judges passed the initial qualification assessment
On 31 March 2016 the Qualification Chamber of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine announced the results of initial qualification assessment of last 10 judges from the 5th Group.
Upon the assessment results 6 judges applying for lifetime judicial appointment confirmed the ability to administer justice in the appropriate court, namely:
- Mrs. Olena Repushevska, judge of Kryvoozerskyi District Court of Mykolaiv region;
- Mrs. Zinaida Sukharevych, judge of Zavodskyi District Court of Mykolaiv city;
- Mrs. Nataliia Tarasenko, judge of Desnianskyi District Court of Kyiv city;
- Mrs. Viktoriia Shvydenko, judge of Podolskyi District Court of Kyiv city;
- Mr. Oleksii Shyshylin, judge of Prymorskyi District Court of Mariupol city of Donetsk region;
- Mr. Dmytro Yakovlev, judge of Babushkinskyi District Court of Dnipropetrovsk city.
In addition, 2 judges did not confirm their ability to administer judges:
- Mr. Serhii Rubizhnyi, judge of Zhovtnevyi District Court of Kharkiv city;
- Mr. Andrii Chalyi, judge of Novopskovskyi District Court of Luhansk region.
Judges who did not pass the assessment were suspended by the Commission from administration of justice and sent to the National School of Judges of Ukraine to undergo retraining, which will last until 22 August 2016. During retraining, the court specialization and instance, as well as the results of the initial qualification assessment of these judges will be considered. After retraining, judges will be subject to reassessment.
Regarding Mr. Leonid Skrypnyk, judge of Komsomolskyi District Court of Kherson city and Mrs. Oksana Tsarevych, judge of Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv city the Commission decided to take a recess in considering the determination of results of initial qualification assessment due to the need for additional data verification of judicial dossier.
