Announcement of the date and place of the Congress of Judges of Ukraine and the beginning of acceptance of documents from candidates for the position of a member of the HQCJU
XVII Extraordinary Congress of Judges of Ukraine
where two members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine
to be elected
will be held on October 29-30, 2019.
In accordance with Article 95 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”, the Secretariat of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine announces the beginning of the acceptance of documents from candidates for the position of a member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine by the Congress of Judges of Ukraine.
In accordance with the decisions of the Council of Judges of Ukraine No. 28 of June 21, 2019 and No. 43 of August 2, 2019, received by the Commission on September 9, 2019, the XVII Extraordinary Congress of Judges of Ukraine is scheduled for October 29-30, 2019. The agenda of the Congress includes the issue of election of two members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
The venue of the Congress is the congress hall of the President Hotel at 12, Hospitalna Str., Kyiv.
Documents from candidates are accepted by the Secretariat of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (the corresponding box is located in the hall of the Commission’s building) at the following address: 9, General Shapoval Str., Kyiv, from Monday to Thursday from 09:00 to 18:00, on Friday - from 09:00 to 16:45, on the last day, September 28, 2019, from 09:00 min up to 24:00.
The full list of requirements for candidates for the position of a member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, as well as restrictions on membership in the Commission, are determined by Articles 94 and 95 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”. Examples of documents to be submitted to the Secretariat of the Commission can be found at the Commission’s official website in Section “Information for candidates to the HQCJU”. The list of candidates for the position of a member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine and information about them will be published in Section “Candidates to the HQCJU composition”.
