Concerning the separate statements of Fedir Venislavskyi

On October 9, 2019, in interview with the Censor.NET edition, a representative of the President of Ukraine in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Fedir Venislavskyi responded about the competition to the Supreme Court by saying that “certain judges did not solve the tests they had to pass, but as a result received the highest score and that allowed them to become judges”.

The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine twice held competition to the Supreme Court, competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court and the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court, selection of candidates for the position of judge of the local court and competitions to the judicial positions of local general, commercial and administrative courts (total number of about 7000 candidates).

The exam, including anonymous written test, was carried out by the Commission within these procedures, using a comprehensive system of protection of information under the supervision of public, international donors and journalists, and was broadcasted in real time in the Internet.

During this time, there were no cases of receiving not only the highest score but also any other positive score of the participant who did not take the tests.

If interested in obtaining comprehensive information on any aspect of its activity, the Commission is ready to submit it to the representative of the President of Ukraine in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, Fedir Venislavskyi.
