Meeting of Members of the Commission with the delegation of the High Judicial Council of Uzbekistan was held
On December 10, 2018, a meeting of the Commission Members and representatives of the Commission Secretariat with a delegation of the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place on the premises of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
The delegation included Mr. Dylshod Arypov, Deputy Chairman of the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Mr. Dzhamshyd Tylavov, senior inspector of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Mr. Dzhasuryddyn Abdusattarov, Mr. Rakhmatulla Hulomov, Mr. Sarvar Solyiev, judges of the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Mr. Syrozhyddyn Khasanov, leading inspector of the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Mr. Ildar Faizullin, Project Advisor of the OSCE Project Coordinator Office in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The purpose of the meeting was to brief foreign guests on the judicial system of Ukraine in general and the activities of the HQCJU in particular. Among other things, attention was paid to the Commission carrying out competitions to the Supreme Court, to the High Anti-Corruption Court, to the High Court on Intellectual Property, the qualification evaluation of judges for their eligibility for the position held and the selection of candidates for the position of a local court judge.
The parties shared their experience in selection, testing and appointing candidates for the positions of judges, evaluation of current judges as well as criteria for determining judges as not eligible for the position held. Furthermore, the participants discussed the peculiarities of interaction between various judicial authorities.
The HQCJU was represented by Mr. Stanislav Shchotka, Deputy Chairman of the Commission; Mr. Mykhailo Makarchuk, Ms. Valentyna Ustymenko, Ms. Anastasiia Zaritska, Mr. Mykola Mishyn, Mr. Taras Lukash, Mr. Stepan Gladii and Mr. Pavlo Lutsiuk, Commission Members; Mr. Oleksandr Bystrushkin, Deputy Head of the Commission Secretariat and Mr. Taras Neshyk, Director of Department of Judicial Career of the Commission Secretariat.
The visit of the delegation of the High Judicial Council of Uzbekistan to Ukraine was organized by the High Council of Justice with the assistance of the OSCE Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights in Ukraine.
