Meeting of the Commission Chairman with chairmen and deputy chairmen of local courts of general jurisdiction
Within the framework of the National School of Judges of Ukraine training of chairmen and deputy chairmen of local general courts, held on 9 October 2015, there was a meeting of Sergii Koziakov, Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine and Mr Roman Savchuk, Director of the Department for the professional qualification of judges and judicial candidates of the Commission Secretariat with students of the National School Judges of Ukraine.
At the meeting the Commission Chairman informed the participants about working results of the Commission in currant composition; introduced to the Commission position in respect of organization and conduct of initial qualification assessment of judges; answered to judges’ questions on topical issues of judicial reform, including proposed amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, procedure for transfer of judges from the courts that do not work, etc.
The participants paid special attention to current issues of initial qualification assessment of judges. The students were familiarized with initial qualification assessment of judges; clarified the issue of assessment phasing, as well as the role and importance of certain elements of the assessment procedures; explained procedure for formation of the judicial dossier and the access of judges to it; provided examples of questions during the exam.
