Member of Commission participated in a workshop on a survey on justice in Ukraine

On July 18, 2019, a seminar at the World Bank Representative Office in Ukraine to familiarize the legal community with the survey methodology, which will be held within the framework of regional multilateral investigation of justice in Ukraine and other countries of the Eastern Partnership under the auspices of the World Bank and the European Union, was held.

The event was attended by representatives of the World Bank, European Union, Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Supreme Court, Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, State Judicial Administration of Ukraine, High Council of Justice and High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.

The Regional Justice Survey aims to investigate the progress and impact of reforms on domestic justice and ensure proper management of initiatives for further reforming.

The survey is scheduled for September-October 2019.

The target groups of the study are Ukrainian citizens, entrepreneurs, judges, prosecutors, administrative staff of the courts, lawyers, state notaries and bailiffs. The survey aims at examining the level of effectiveness, quality and independence of the judiciary, as well as an analysis of the attitude of Ukrainian citizens to it based on the results of the reforms being implemented.

Also, the participants provided suggestions to the list of questions within the survey, drawing the attention of international experts on those aspects that would be especially interesting to explore in Ukraine.

The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine at the event was represented by Stepan Gladii, member of the Commission, and Inna Hanushevych, leading specialist of the international cooperation department.
