Round Table “Methodology of Assessing Trust in Court: Presentation of Pilot Research” was held in Kyiv
On August 6, 2018, with the support of the USAID “New Justice” Program, the Council of Judges of Ukraine and the Institute of Applied Humanitarian Research, the round table entitled “Methodology of Assessing Trust in Court: Presentation of Pilot Research”, attended by representatives of the working group of the Judicial Communication Committee, among whom was Ms. Svitlana Maksymova, Chief Specialist of the Sector for Working Support of the Commission’s Leadership, was held.
The methodology of monitoring trust in the court has been developed and tested by the Institute of Applied Humanitarian Research (Kharkiv) with the support of the USAID “New Justice” Program. The purpose of developing the methodology is to create a tool for the time-efficient assessment of trust in the court according to indicators of mass consciousness. Judge Ms. Tetiana Suyarko, member of the Council of Judges of Ukraine, took active part in the development of the methodology. One of the key tasks of the methodology is to test the hypothesis regarding the ability to build monitoring based on an online survey.
During the round table the results and conclusions of the pilot research on the methodology ware discussed, as well as the following steps for its implementation were identified.
In addition to the members of the Judicial Communication Committee, judges and employees of courts’ secretariats, lawyers, representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the National School of Judges of Ukraine and non-governmental organizations participated in the event.
