Scholars provide advices on qualification evaluation of judges
During the meeting with the Candidate of Psychological Sciences Mr Yurii Irkhin on 24 July 2015, the officers of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine discussed the personal component in the initial evaluation of the judges’ qualification.
The scholar shared with the audience his experience and knowledge in professional evaluation. He stressed that the issue of qualification evaluation of judges appears before Ukrainian society not for the first time. The so-called job-description has long been developed by domestic experts, based their search on the experience of their European counterparts.
Mr Irkhin gave examples of professional psychological methods of diagnostics for professional development of individual, which may be applied during judges’ qualification evaluation.
Participants of the meeting also discussed the main aspects of judges’ evaluation to improve their skill level and motivation for professional growth.
The event was attended by Mrs Tetiana Veselska, acting Chairman of the Commission, Mr Andrii Vasylenko, Member of the Commission, Mr Oleksandr Bystrushkin, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Commission, Mr Roman Savchuk, Head of Department for Professional Qualification of Judges and Candidates and inspectors.
Recalling that qualification evaluation should start in August 2015. The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine is actively cooperating with international and national experts in this matter, meeting with judges of various levels, academics and the public, as well.
