The Chairman of the Commission held working meeting with representatives of Donors and Implementers of international technical assistance

On 2 February 2017 the Chairman of the Commission Mr. Sergii Koziakov and Chief of the Commission's Secretariat Mrs. Olena Ponomarenko held a working meeting with representatives of Donors and Implementers of international technical assistance.

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of practical aspects of the organization of the international monitoring mission of observers during the completion for the vacant positions of judges to the Supreme Court, namely passing by candidates of the first phase of qualification assessment in the form of anonymous written test that would be held on 16 February 2017, and solving of practical task, which is scheduled for 21 February 2017.

Considering the critical importance of the mentioned phases of qualification assessment of candidates, the Chairman of the Commission stressed the need to ensure maximum transparency of the competition, compliance with clear and understandable administration procedures and urged representatives of Donors to actively participate in the formation of the monitoring group.

Chief of the Commission’s Secretariat told the participants about preparation for the competition and answered to the questions of international representatives on the rules of administration and technical conditions for the competition etc.

The participants of working meeting included the representatives of the USAID New Justice Program, European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine, Council of Europe Project “Support to Judicial Reform in Ukraine”, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the EU Project “Support to Justice Sector Reforms in Ukraine”, Canadian-Ukrainian Project “Support to Judicial Reform” and the American Bar Association.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue coordination of their joint activities and promoting cooperation.
