The Commission is working on the implementation of the new legislation on the assessment of judges

The first organizational meeting of the working group on the implementation of the system of evaluation of judges was held on March 31, 2015 in the premises of the Commission.

The event was held with the support of the European Union Project «Support to Justice Sector Reforms in Ukraine» and USAID FAIR Justice Project

Working Group was created to develop local normative acts to regulate the qualification evaluation of judges according to the Law of Ukraine "On the right to a fair trial".

Mr Stanislav Shchotka, Secretary of the Qualification Chamber of the Commission, Mr Virgilijus Valančius, Team Leader of the EU Project and Mr David Michael Vaughn, Chief of Party of USAID FAIR Justice Project were opening the event.

The meeting was attended by international experts Mrs Reda Moliene, Acting director of the National Courts Administration of the Republic of Lithuania and Mrs Salvija Cavalne, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Law of the Mykolas Romeris University (Vilnius, Lithuania) informed participants to the European standards, practice guidelines for evaluating judges and the experience of other countries in the evaluation judges, particularly in time of crisis.

Mr Roman Savchuk, Head of the Department of Organization of Judicial Training of the Secretariat of the Commission, Mrs Polina Kazakevych, Head of International Cooperation Division of the Secretariat of the Commission, Mrs Oksana Nazarova, Deputy Director of the Department for appointments, election and dismissal of judges of the Commission, Mrs Tetiana Chumachenko, Member of the Council of Judges of Ukraine, Judge of the High Administrative Court of Ukraine, Oleksandr Ishchenko, Head of scientific and methodological support of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine of the National School of Judges of Ukraine, Mr Sergii Mudruk, President of the "Universal Examination network", Mr Oleksandr Pavlenko and Mr Andriy Vasylenko, national experts of international projects expressed thoughts according these issues.

The working group will work for 4 days.
