The Commission recommends dismissing a judge who was resolving the cases regarding Automaidan participants
At the meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine on 9 February 2016 it considered the issue of bringing judges to disciplinary responsibility.
Having considered the appeal of NGO “Maidan - Public Control”, the Commission decided to recommend to the High Council of Justice dismissing the capital judge who reviewed the cases regarding participants of Automaidan. The Commission sees the evidence of the oath violation in the activity of this judge.
During the meeting the other issues were also discussed. Thus, upon the results of disciplinary proceedings, the Commission decided to apply disciplinary punishment in the form of reprimand to 2 judges.
Furthermore, 1 judge became subject to disciplinary sanction in the form of warning.
Due to the expiry of the deadlines, the Commission terminated the disciplinary proceedings against 5 judges.
In addition, the Commission deferred consideration of disciplinary proceedings regarding 1 judge.
