The Commission recommends the High Council of Justice to dismiss a judge due to oath violation
At the meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, held on 20-21 January 2016, the issue of bringing judges to disciplinary responsibility was considered.
Under the results of disciplinary proceedings, the Commission has decided to send a recommendation to the High Council of Justice to address the issue on making submission on dismissal of Mr. Vadym Halichyi from the position of judge of Zhovtnevyi District Court of Dnipropetrovsk city, in whose actions are seen the evidence of oath violation.
The Commission decided to apply disciplinary sanction in the form of warning against 2 judges:
- Mrs. Valentyna Samoilova, judge of Kharkivskyi District Administrative Court;
- Mrs. Svitlana Khomchenko, judge of Marhanetskyi City Court of Dnipropetrovska oblast.
In addition, the disciplinary sanction in the form of reprimand has been applied to:
- Mr. Oleksandr Slurdenko, the judge of the Chuhuievskyi City Court of Kharkivska oblast;
- Mr. Markiian Samsin, the judge of Kamianka-Buzkyi District Court of Lvivska oblast.
Due to expiration of the terms, the Commission has terminated the disciplinary case against 7 judges. The disciplinary case was also terminated against 3 judges. The consideration of the inquiry on bringing 10 judges to disciplinary responsibility was postponed.
