The Coordination meeting with the representatives of international projects
On 21st of September 2017, the Coordination meeting with the representatives of the international projects regarding the selection of judges in local courts and preparation of the new Supreme Court justices was held.
The meeting was participated by the representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine, CoE Project “Support to the implementation of the Judicial Reform in Ukraine”,
the Twinning Project “Support of the Supreme Court of Ukraine”, EU Project “Support to Justice Sector Reforms in Ukraine”, USAID “New Justice” Program and USAID Office on Democracy and Governance, Canadian Project “Support for Judicial Reform”, EU Anti-corruption Initiative,
OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine, Embassy of Canada in Ukraine and the National School of Judges of Ukraine.
The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine was represented by the Chairman of the Commission Mr. Sergii Koziakov and the Head of the Commission’s Secretariat
Ms. Olena Ponomarenko.
The Chairman of the Commission told about the stages and features of candidates’ selection for the position of judges in local courts and holding of qualification exams.
Participants of the meeting discussed further plans of the competition to the High Specialized Court on Intellectual Property and the concept of a comprehensive training program for the newly appointed judges of the Supreme Court which will be conducted by the National School of Judges of Ukraine.
The meeting was organized with a support of the European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine.
