The meeting with new member of the High Council of Justice
The representatives of the Commission took part in the monthly meeting of donors with executors of projects aimed at introducing the rule of law principle in Ukraine, organized on 3 June 2015 by the USAID FAIR Justice Project.
The participants of the meeting included Mr Gia Getsadze, Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Mr Mykola Onishchuk, rector of the National School of Justice of Ukraine, the representatives of the High Council of Justice, the Supreme Court of Ukraine, the High Administrative Court of Ukraine, international projects, NGOs and foreign diplomatic missions.
The meeting was invited to attend by Mr Andrii Boiko, Dean of Jaw Faculty of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and the newly appointed member of the High Council of Justice, who spoke about challenges that are faced in reforming legal education.
Mr Andrii Boiko informed about the problems faced by legal education today, the main reasons for their occurrence and priorities to address them.
Separately, in his speech Mr Boiko focused on the successful results of the first steps of legal education reform, including the preparation of said test base for the unified state qualification exam on public access to the legal profession.
"Further work on the development of the test base will ensure objectivity and transparency in respect of the unified state qualification exam procedure for public access to the legal profession," said Mr Boiko.
