The members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine held a briefing for the press

December 16, 2014 the members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine held the briefing for the press.

The newly appointed members of the Commission met the representatives of the top home legal periodicals.

The key subject of discussion was the fate of judges from the Donetsk and Lugansk oblast. Currently, the Commission received over 400 applications from judges awaiting for being transferred to the courts located outside the zone of "anti-terrorist operation".

The examination of the complaints about possible violations made by judges while considering the cases as to the events on the Maidan, separatism, terrorism and human rights violations in the Crimea is pending before the Commission.

In general, the Commission is considering about 8,000 complaints against judges.

It was also announced the issue of forming the full board of the Commission. It is expected that in the near future Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights will appoint the member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
