On May 22, 2019, the sessions of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine in panels are carried out in regular mode. The blockade of the HQCJU by so-called activists, which lasted for the last two days, did not happen today.
The qualification evaluation of judges of local and appellate courts for compliance with the position held continues in the HQCJU.
On May 21, 2019, Mr. Oleh Tkachuk, Chairman of the Council of Judges of Ukraine, met with the persons who blocked the building of the HQCJU, as well as with the members of the Commission. He expressed concern about the numerous aggressive lawsuits against members of the Commission, as well as the highly coordinated attacks in the information space that do not contribute to the continuation of qualitative change that Ukraine conducts with the support of international partners.
