Three candidates stopped participating in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court and five – to the HACC Appeal Chamber

On January 18, 2019, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine held the first special joint meeting with the Public Council of International Experts, where the question of whether the candidates for the positions of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court meet the criteria provided for in the Article 8, paragraph 4 of the Law of Ukraine “On the High Anti-Corruption Court” was considered.

Following the voting results the HQCJ and PCIE decided that three candidates stopped participating in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court, namely:

  • Holub Oksana Anatoliivna
  • Martynov Yevhen Oleksandrovych
  • Tishko Dmytro Anatoliyovych

It was also decided that five candidates stopped participating in the competition to the Appeal Chamber of the HACC, namely:

  • Zahorodnii Anatolii Fedorovych
  • Zaiets Taras Oleksandrovych
  • Kviatkovskyi Anatolii Stepanovych
  • Kulinich Yurii Petrovych
  • Shtulman Ihor Volodymyrovych

The meeting took place within the framework of the qualification evaluation of candidates as a part of the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court conducted by the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine. The Public Council of International Experts assists the Commission in preparing decisions on the appointment of HACC judges.

It should be recalled that in general the question of whether 49 candidates meet the criteria for the position of the HACC judge, provided for in the Law of Ukraine “On the High Anti-Corruption Court”, should be considered at the special joint meetings. The next special joint meeting of the HQCJ and the PCIE will be held on January 21, 2019.
