Two candidates stopped participating in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court
On January 28, 2019, a special joint meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine with the Public Council of International Experts was held to consider the question whether the candidates for the positions of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court meet the criteria provided for in Article 8, paragraph 4 of the Law of Ukraine “On the High Anti-Corruption Court”.
According to results of the voting, the HQCJU and the PCIE decided that the two candidates stopped participating in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court, namely:
- Pikovskyi Viacheslav Yuriiovych;
- Smaznova Iryna Serhiivna.
The meeting was held within the framework of qualification evaluation of candidates as part of the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court conducted by the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine. The Public Council of International Experts assists the Commission in preparing decisions on the appointment of HAC judges.
Representatives of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in Ukraine, the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) and Transparency International Ukraine, non-governmental international organization for combating corruption also attended the special joint meeting.
