On April 30, 2025, the deadline for submitting the declaration of family ties and the declaration of integrity of a candidate for the position of a judge expires.
In accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Competition for Vacant Positions of Judges in the Courts of Appeal, announced by the Commission’s decision No. 94/zp-23 dated September 14,2023 (as amended, hereinafter referred to as the “Competition Terms and Conditions”), a person participating in the competition who is not a judge must submit declarations of family ties and integrity of a candidate for the position of a judge annually by May 01.
Paragraph 1 of the Rules for Completing and Submitting Declarations stipulates that such declarations shall be submitted personally by the candidate for the position of a judge by filling them out on the official website of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
The declaration of family ties should cover the years of 2020–2024, while the declaration of integrity should be submitted for 2024. The submitted declarations will be attached to the judicial candidate’s dossier in electronic form. There is no need to send the declarations to the Commission by post or electronically.
At the same time, be reminded, that clause 8.5 of the Competition Terms and Conditions stipulates that a person participating in the competition who is not obliged to submit an annual declaration of a person authorised to perform the functions of the state or local self-government must submit such a declaration as a candidate for the position of a judge annually by April 01.
Copies of such declarations must be sent to the Commission within ten days after the Commission’s decision to admit the person to the qualification evaluation stage “Dossier Study and Interview”.
As stated in the Competition Terms and Conditions, declarations are to be submitted for the years 2023 and 2024.
The documents should be sent to the address of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine: 9, General Shapoval Str., Kyiv, 03110.
There is no need to send declarations for participants who have already submitted declarations for the purpose of special verification, as well as those who are obligated to submit such declarations annually via the portal of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention.
