
On June 04–05, 2025, the 11th (24th) Lviv Criminal Justice Forum was held in Lviv, with the participation of Commission members Liudmyla Volkova, Vitalii Gatseliuk, and Oleh Koliush.
This year’s event was dedicated to the theme “War and Peace & Crime and Punishment”. The forum was co-organized by the OSCE Support Program for Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigations, and the Lviv Criminal Justice Forum, a non-governmental organization.
The event covered topics such as war, crime and punishment, Ukraine’s new criminal code, war and its gender aspects, and post-war criminal justice in Ukraine.
Members of the Commission, in particular, spoke at a dialogue platform dedicated to the formation of the judiciary – “Durante et vosmet rebus servante secundis. A look into the post-war future”.
Vitalii Gatseliuk also moderated the discussion “The new criminal code as a harbinger of peace.”
About 100 participants took part in the Forum, including representatives of state bodies in the field of criminal justice, local and appellate courts, the State Bureau of Investigations, representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and educational and scientific institutions.
